Transformers with Izolyator high-voltage bushings to be supplied to the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP

On 30 November 2023, an agreement was reached on the delivery of 550 kV single-phase transformers produced by the PMTT. High-Voltage Solutions plant for the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP named after P. S. Neporozhniy.

Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP named after P. S. Neporozhniy is the largest and most powerful power plant in Russia: ten radial-axial hydraulic units ensure an installed capacity of 6400 MW. The height of the highest dam in Russia, a unique hydraulic structure in size and complexity, is 242 m. The power plant is part of the Sayano-Shushensky hydropower complex, located on the Yenisei River in the southeast of the Republic of Khakassia. Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP named after P. S. Neporozhniy is a branch of the RusHydro Federal Hydro-Generating Company.

PMTT. High-Voltage Solutions (PMTT) manufactures from 126 to 800 kV power transformers and ATs of over 25 MVA capacity including units in three-phase arrangement. Full-cycle production comprises procurement and welding, assembly, storage, winding and insulation workshops, as well as a testing center. The production capacity of PMTT. High-Voltage Solutions is more than 10 000 MVA annually. The plant is located in Saint-Petersburg.

The agreement was reached at multilateral negotiations at the power plant, in which the RusHydro Federal Hydro-Generating Company took part remotely from the head office in Moscow, with the participation of the management of the hydroelectric power station, the PMTT plant, the general contractor of the project ModulPromEngineering and the Izolyator Group, which was represented by the Sales and Business Development Director OEM Maxim Zagrebin and Deputy Chief Process Engineer of the R&D Center Stanislav Nikitin.

Importantly, this is the first delivery of transformer equipment with Izolyator high-voltage bushings to the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP in the modern history of Russia.
